About the Academy — Developing Golfers, Athletes and Competitors

Our Mission
Golf Skills, Training Habits, and Confidence
Matt and Jenn Creech, PGA, opened The Golf Dome with one mission: Complete Player Development. That mission guides the Academy as players grow as golfers, athletes, and competitors through individual feedback, technology, and purposeful practice.
Our PGA professionals help players understand their game, identify priorities, and build a plan for progress. At The Golf Dome and Tanglewood Golf Club, winter training builds skills for the season ahead, while summer programming emphasizes learning and playing on the course.
Our Philosophy
Four Areas We Coach
Our coaching model looks beyond individual swing mechanics. Players develop across multiple areas that contribute to long-term improvement and performance.
Technical Development
Golf Skills
Full swing, short game, putting, ball-flight control, and distance management form the foundation of a player's technical development.
Physical Development
Athletic Development
TPI movement screening identifies mobility and stability priorities. Coaches connect those findings with fitness, balance, and strength habits, while Smart2Move testing supports ground-force and speed development.
Purposeful Training
Practice & Performance
Structured practice, measurable goals, and consistent feedback help players take ownership of their improvement between coaching sessions.
Competitive Development
Competition & Course Management
Players learn decision-making, course strategy, and scoring. Focus, confidence, pre-shot routines, and the ability to reset after mistakes support performance under pressure.
How We Coach
Assess, Coach, Practice, Compete
Each player begins with a development profile that may include TrackMan club and ball data, putting evaluation, movement screening, scoring history, and coach observation. We also assess confidence and course strategy: how players approach challenges, choose shots, and manage a round. This profile shapes individual priorities and a purposeful training plan.
01
Assess
Understand each player's current skills, movement, and development needs.
02
Develop
Build technical skills and athletic abilities through professional coaching.
03
Practice
Reinforce improvements with structured training and meaningful feedback.
04
Apply
Transfer training to the course through scoring, strategy, and competition.
Player Development Pathway
From Fundamentals to Competitive Golf
Our Academy programs provide a progression from foundational skill development to advanced competitive preparation. Placement considers a player's age, skills, goals, readiness, and commitment. Ages and program placement are general guidelines rather than strict requirements.

Developing more complete golfers through advanced coaching, structured practice, competitive preparation, and an introduction to college golf opportunities.
Ages 14+ | Levels 8-10

Where We Train
Year-Round Practice, Championship-Course Experience
The Golf Dome and Tanglewood Golf Club work together to give Academy players opportunities to practice, develop, and perform throughout the year.
Indoor Development
The Golf Dome
A year-round environment for professional coaching, technical development, structured practice, and technology-supported feedback.
On-Course Development
Tanglewood Golf Club
An 18-hole championship course that has hosted PGA Tour events, with a golf strength-training facility. Players apply skills through course management, strategy, scoring, and on-course coaching.
Year-Round Development Plan
Five Phases of Purposeful Development
A year-round cycle of training, competition, and review.
01 Assess
November-December | 2 Sessions per Week
Establish a starting point with TrackMan full swing assessments, SAM PuttLab, Smart2Move force-plate testing, a TPI movement screen, and a skill and scoring profile.
02 Build
January-February | 3 Sessions per Week
Work on mobility and stability, speed and ground force, swing priorities, and strength habits. Retest every four weeks to evaluate progress and guide the next priorities.
03 Prepare
March-Mid-April | 2 Sessions per Week
Evaluate progress with TrackMan full swing assessments and ball-flight measures. Apply improvements through wedge distance control, putting and short game, simulated course play, and score posting.
04 Compete and Apply
Summer | On-Course Development
Bring training onto the course through purposeful practice, competition, and coach-guided play. Develop course strategy, decision-making, and scoring skills while learning from real playing situations.
05 Reflect and Reset
October | Break and Season Review
Take a purposeful break from the regular training cycle to reflect on the season. Players, families, and coaches review progress, celebrate achievements, identify priorities, and build a clear plan for the next stage of development.
Baseline assessments, skill tests, and scoring opportunities show change over time. Progress also appears in practice habits, confidence, and posted scores.
